Why Home Décor?
Hi, I’m Przemo, and here’s why I started a home décor blog based on my journey through love, loss, and creation…
Life has a way of surprising us in ways we never imagined. For me, it began with a fairytale wedding in 2012, marrying the love of my life – a beautiful Italian girl.
But soon after, our fairytale turned into an unimaginable struggle…
My wife, my best friend and soulmate, was diagnosed with stage IV endometriosis shortly after our wedding. The following year, we received another devastating blow – fibromyalgia. Both chronic illnesses robbed her of the life she had once known and loved.
Before her diagnosis, my wife was a vibrant dancer, choreographer, and performer. She had her own dance school, teaching others to express themselves through movement and creativity. She was the epitome of strength, grace, and passion. But these cruel conditions took everything from her — her health, her business, and even her will to live.
The pain wasn’t just physical, it pierced her very soul.
Her mental health suffered greatly. Having battled anxiety, OCD, and depression since her childhood, the chronic pain and limitations she now faced compounded her struggles. There were moments so dark that she tried to take her own life, believing she was a burden. On more than one occasion, she begged me to divorce her, convinced that I deserved a better life with someone healthy. Those moments broke my heart in ways words cannot describe.
But love isn’t about giving up when things get hard. It’s about standing by each other, even in the darkest times. I made a promise on our wedding day to love her in sickness and in health, and I meant every word. I stayed. I stayed when the world felt heavy, when she couldn’t see a way forward, and when it felt like there was no hope. I stayed because she is my world, my inspiration, and the reason I fight every single day.
Our lives changed dramatically as we adapted to this “new normal”.
Her pain-ridden body made working outside the home impossible, and so we built a life around her needs. In 2019, I started a blog, worryhead.com, to share our journey, spread awareness about endometriosis and fibromyalgia, and provide a voice for couples like us navigating life’s challenges together. Writing became a cathartic outlet for me and a way to help others feel less alone in their struggles.
But it wasn’t just about raising awareness. I wanted to give her a space where she could thrive, even in the face of adversity. That’s where the idea for my personally branded blog przemobania.com was born. In the summer of 2022, I turned my passion for home decor into something greater – a mission!
My wife’s pain meant that working from home wasn’t a luxury — it was a necessity. I decided to focus on Home Office Décor because I understood how important it was to create a space that promotes productivity, creativity, and comfort, even in the toughest times.
I poured my heart into designing a home office that wasn’t just functional but also beautiful and inspiring. A space that could bring her a little joy amidst the pain. A place where she could work on her own terms, surrounded by colors, textures, and elements that lifted her spirit.
My childhood memories of my mother’s lovingly decorated home filled with plants and warmth guided me in creating a sanctuary for my wife.
Through my blog, I share not just home office decor tips but the story of how creating a cozy, nurturing space can transform your day-to-day life. Each article and design idea is rooted in my belief that a well-designed home office is more than just a place to work — it’s a haven.
A cozy home office can wrap you in comfort, spark your creativity, and provide a sense of peace, even on the most challenging days.
For those who work from home, a cozy and functional home office isn’t a luxury; it’s essential. It’s where inspiration meets productivity, and where the synergy between thoughtful design and purposeful living truly shines. By blending comfort with practicality, a well-decorated workspace doesn’t just support your work, it supports your well-being.
If you’re here, reading this, whether you’re looking to transform your home office, improve your work-from-home experience, or simply find inspiration to create a space that feels uniquely yours, I hope you find it here.
This blog is more than just a collection of decor ideas; it’s a testament to the power of love, creativity, and the human spirit.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. Together, we can create cozy, inspiring spaces that nurture not just our productivity but our souls. And perhaps, in the process, we’ll find a little light in the darkness.
